Beyond the Unknown was a science fiction television series produced in Canada and syndicated to television stations in the United States in the late 1970s. It was a favorite program of Alex Tischenko before he was transported to otherSpace and transformed into a centaur.

Fans of the show are known to the general public as "Beyondies", but prefer to call themselves "Beyonders".

Beyond the Unknown chronicled the voyage of the DSV Constellation, an experimental deep space research vehicle intended for voyages to the outer planets of Earth's solar system. The ship was chartered under the authority of UniSpace, or the United Nations International Space Authority.

Constellation, led by Commander Peter Miller, was accidentally flung into the furtherst reaches of the Universe during a test of the ship's engines. The crew is now searching for either a way back to Earth or a new home.
