[edit] Complete summary
[spoiler...]Anne's running low on magical groceries, so she, Robin, and Jason take a trip to The Magic Touch. At the store, Kohain approaches Jason while he is browsing alone, and tries to convince him to buy the Bottle of Ishtarru. Unable to persuade him, though, Kohain has to use a spell on Jason to get him to take the bottle and also to forget the encounter even happened.
Shortly after returning home without even remembering how he got there, Jason's curiosity gets the better of him and he tries rubbing the bottle. Angelique emerges and lays down the ground rules for Jason. Sadly, the rules preclude the possibility of her becoming a redhead.
Jason is taking his time planning out his wishes, so he brings Angie, in her bottle, to school with him. He decides during Professor Madison's class that his first wish is to have all the right test answers. Unsurprisingly, the result is not quite the expected one, and all the test questions have changed to accommodate Jason's answers, thus ruining everybody else's grades. Later in the class, Jason finds out his djinn is defective when Professor Madison idly wishes he could keep the class' attention, and is instantly transformed into a busty blonde woman.
Pretty soon, Jason is surrounded by wishes gone awry throughout the halls of the high school, including James and Irene's first mind swap. Angelique tries to undo the chaos, but is unable to resist granting every wish within earshot. When Angie recognizes her bottle as the mythical Bottle of Ishtarru, Jason rushes with her to consult Anne.
They find Anne hanging out with Robin and the new Canadian transfer, Scott Winters, who quickly gets himself reassigned as a mannequin in Tracey's Department Store downtown. Anne consults one of her books and discovers that the bottle's curse can be broken. Unfortunately, somebody wishes that all non-blonde girls in the school were bimbos, rendering Anne too ditzy to translate the requirements. Robin cleverly tries to wish The Wotch powers upon himself, which causes him to turn into a girl. Not being a blonde, he is quickly bimbofied as well.
The only one left who can help, Jason knows he needs to wish that Anne become a blonde, but his internal struggle against losing a redhead is great. Eventually, he makes the wish in desperation, but quickly makes Robyn a redhead in order to calm his conscience.
Anne picks up the translation of the curse's details, and finds that, in order to lift it, the bottle must be sealed, trapping Angelique on this plane. Angie is not happy, but concedes. The spell to seal the bottle is successful, and all of the wishes are reversed. Afterwards, Angelique decides she needs to leave and find her place in this world, but not before giving her sealed bottle to Jason to remember her.
In another dimension, Xaos receives his report on The Wotch's progress from Kohain, making sure that the Bottle of Ishtarru remains in her friend's possession. Satisfied, he personally joins a battle against a faction of the Soldiers of Resistance and decimates them before he prepares another test for Anne.
