The Bottle of Ishtarru is an ancient and cursed artifact. When rubbed, it summons a genie to grant wishes. However, a genie summoned through this bottle is unable to control his or her wish-granting abilities, and is forced to grant every wish spoken within earshot, regardless of who makes it.

The dreaded Bottle of Ishtarru... [spoiler...]
Ancient Origins
The dreaded Bottle of Ishtarru takes its name from that of its creator Ishtarru, a diabolical genie who harbored an intense hatred for humans. He crafted the bottle thousands of years ago as a means to wreak havoc upon any humans foolish enough to summon a genie through it, knowing that the result of uncontrolled wish-granting would be immeasurable chaos. The bottle proved to be very effective; it was responsible for the destructions of both Atlantis and Pompeii. However, the bottle also had a second, even more insidious use. Ishtarru devised a way to open a portal to the human realm by sacrificing a mortal who had cast magic upon it. He intended to use this method to storm the human realm and conquer it by force. Ishtarru finally got his chance when he discovered a witch's apprentice who had cast a spell on the bottle, but before he could execute the girl he was interrupted by the Worlock Melleck Xaos and the first Wotch. The pair defeated Ishtarru and rescued the girl, and Xaos took the cursed bottle with him.

Events During Angelique, The Defective Djinn
2000 years later, Xaos decided to use the Bottle of Ishtarru as a test for Anne. He had his minion Kohain trick Jason into taking the bottle home with him. Jason rubbed the bottle and Angie was summoned through it. While trying to decide what he would wish for, Jason decided to take the bottle to school with him. However, this exposed the bottle to the wishes of everyone Jason encountered at school. Since Angie was forced to grant them all due to the bottle's influence, the school quickly became a scene of magical chaos. Eventually Anne was able to seal the bottle's gateway to the genie world, which broke the curse and reversed the damage it had caused, but left Angie trapped in the human world for the time being. Jason decided to keep the defunct bottle at his house.

Events During Revenge of Ishtarru
A few months later, the genie boss Amaar sent henchmen to reclaim the bottle and kidnap Jason in order to find out who had sealed it. When Anne, Robin and Angie traveled to the genie world to rescue him, Amaar captured Anne and tried to sacrifice her in order to complete what Ishtarru had started. However, he too was foiled in his attempt. The bottle was ultimately destroyed by Amaar-Ishtarru as part of a way to open a portal without a sacrifice, but Anne and Angie were able to defeat him before he could travel through it.

[edit] Current Status

The bottle was shattered into pieces by Amaar-Ishtarru's powerful magic during Revenge of Ishtarru. It is unlikely that the bottle can be or will be restored, and it has not appeared in the story since.
