Are you a Wotch fan? Then check this out! All the official answers about how you can be the psychotically die-hard loyal fanboy or fangirl you know you want to be!

  1. Where can I go to talk about the Wotch with other fans?
There are lots of ways you can talk with both the fans and the creators!

    • We have a forum where you can post your thoughts and ideas with several hundred other fans! We highly recommend you join the forum; everybody is friendly and would love to hear what you have to say.
    • We have an official IRC channel where you can chat real-time with the fans and sometimes Anne and Robin! Just point your IRC client at irc.sorcery.net, port 6667, channel #thewotch. If you use Chatzilla, you can just click this link!
    • You can e-mail Anne and Robin! They're always interested in hearing your comments and thoughts and ideas. Anne's is anneonymous@thewotch.com. And Robin's is Robin@thewotch.com.
    • Anne and Robin use Yahoo! Instant Messenger (YIM), too, but please try using one of the other methods above first, since they are often busy. Robin is sirrobin47 and Anne is the_wotch, of course!
    • As a last resort, you can even use snail-mail! We have a post office box, and never object to having a little extra fan mail in it. Send your mail to:
      The Wotch / P.O. Box 37881 / Phoenix, AZ 85069-7881

  2. Can I talk or ask questions in the forum? Can I add my fan art to the gallery?
Sure! We always welcome new people around here. Just please do us a favor and don't ask any questions whose answers are in this FAQ, okay? Thanks.

  3. Wasn't there some other forum at some point?
Yes. We used to have a place at TopWebComics forums; however, in December 2003, the TWC forums died, and everything switched to our forums here. But you may rarely see people mention a thread or topic from the old forum, such as the infamous "goulash" jokes.

  4. Do fans of the Wotch have a nickname?
Yes, they do. They're called Wotchers.

  5. Why are there people in the forum with the same names as the comic characters?
When Anne and Robin designed the comic, they based some of the characters loosely off their friends, so those friends post under the names of their matching characters. It's helped to bring the comic more into real life, but the characters and their real-life counterparts are only very distantly related, and in some cases share nothing more than a name; Anne and Robin have the final say over what the characters actually say and do.

  6. Can I be in the comic? Please? Pretty please with sugar on top!?
Sorry, but it's not a matter of asking. It's a matter of inspiration. If you want to be in the comic, argue it out with Anne's muse.

  7. Can I write a fanfic (a fan-authored fictional story) based on Wotch characters?
There are two general rules for fanfics: First, remember that this comic is read by a variety of ages, so you should keep your fanfics within the PG-13 limits of the comic: no grotesque violence, no sex, and no swearing. Second, keep in mind that fanfics are speculation, not endorsed canon; any similarity between a fanfic and what happens in the actual story is purely coincidental (unless otherwise stated by Anne or Robin). Other than that... go ahead and knock yourselves out!

  8. I'd really love to see a crossover between the Wotch and <insert name of other webcomic here>! They'd go great together! Please, will you do it!?
Thanks for the consideration, but we assure you that if crossovers are going to happen, it will be a decision made mutually by the authors. Oftentimes, the pushing from readers for crossovers just causes frustration and may ensure it doesn't happen. So please don't push Wotch crossovers on other webcomics; if it's meant to happen, it'll happen.
