Karen is a student at Tandy Gardens High School, is a former hench-girl for Tamara Cass, and is best friends with Sarah West. Karen is always trying new things and looking for new experiences. She recently tried out for and made the TGHS cheerleading time, though Sarah, who also tried out, didn't make it in. Karen is finding out that being a member of the Cheer Squad is a lot more work than she thought, and a good deal stranger.

Karen and Sarah have been best friends for years. Until recently they were almost inseperable, functioning as two sides of the same coin. They were willing hench-girls for Tamara Cass for years, since her popularity rubbed off on them, but mostly just because the other girl was doing it. Since Karen made the Cheer Squad the two have begun to slowly grow apart, though neither is happy about it.
