Events During Moon Over Tandy
During the break between Season One and Season Two, Katie was bitten by a werecat. Over the next two months, she was subject to transformations under the light of the full moon which caused her to go feral. No one was aware of this until a full moon spell invoked by Anne caused Katie to transform and go on a rampage. Fortunately Wolfie still had the talisman, and was able to get it around Katie's neck with a little help from Anne. Katie still wears the talisman today in order to keep her mind safe from the effects of her curse, although Anne changed its design to that of a shamrock in order to better match Katie's taste.
Triquetra Cats continuity
The Samantha Stone is actually only named as such in the extended timeline of the Triquetra Cats webcomic. The incident in Moon Over Tandy was the first use of the stone that SERVICE had any record of, so they assumed it had been made by Wolfie herself, and named it after her. Some 300 years after the events of Moon Over Tandy, the talisman had been smashed into tiny shards no larger than the average engagement diamond. However, most of the pieces were still potent enough to duplicate the powers of the original. SERVICE intended to use a recovered shard to stop a werewolf that was killing victims in Tokyo, but the subject turned out not to be under a were-curse at all.

- About the clover shape of the talisman... [spoiler...]"The clover shape has an unusual history. I was busy attempting to draw a picture of Katie McBride in 2004, and I couldn't discern from the comic (only season one had been written at that point) whether the clover shape on her shirt was a pendant or a patch, or even what kind of shirt she was wearing. When I tried to pry the information out of Anne, she admitted that she didn't really know either. So I discussed it with her, and we concluded that it was a pendant that she always wore, on a button-up shirt. I drew the stone as you saw it in the picture, based loosely on a few nice green tourmaline gems at that I found at an online store, and Anne was so inspired by the resulting design that she invented a story behind the stone. She didn't tell the story in the comic until a year later, but it was when I was trying to figure out what Katie was wearing that the clover slowly turned from a random shape on her shirt into the Samantha Stone: Before the start of season two, the Samantha Stone was just a random shape on Katie's shirt." --- Phantom Inker, March 19, 2007 [...hide spoiler]
