It's not clear if Wolfie actually remembered this clearly, but it later lead her to convince Katie McBride to invite Anne to the Slumber Party of Doom. There, after Cassie accidentally summoned a Uricarn demon, it transformed Wolfie into a werewolf, in a possible foreshadowing of Moon Over Tandy. This transformation was undone when Anne banished the demon into a limbo dimension.

Two months after the outbreak, after rumors of werecreature sightings began circulating around TG High, Anne, Robin, Jason, Milo, and Katie discovered that Wolfie is actually a werewolf, and believed herself to be the one who was seen. Anne, mistakenly believing that Wolfie's lycanthropy was a leftover effect of the Mythos Virus that had escaped the cure because she wasn't in werewolf form at the time, offered to try the Mythos cure on Wolfie. They met at the Magic Touch, where Anne magically created an artificial full moon effect to trigger Wolfie's transformation. However, this also triggered Katie's transformation into a werecat, and she promptly escaped and went on a rampage through Tandy.

Wolfie immediately retrieved a magical amulet from her home, and revealed that she has always been a werewolf, being descended from a family of werewolves (which is why neither the Mythos Virus nor its cure could have affected her). She explained that her werewolf ancestors had used the amulet to retain their human minds while in werewolf form, and that its magic had eventually become embedded in her bloodline, so that she doesn't need the amulet to get this effect.

Soon afterward, Wolfie and Anne managed to subdue Katie using the amulet, which Wolfie allowed her to keep to prevent her ailuranthropy from being dangerous. Their respective were-curses have created a deeper bond between Katie and Wolfie, and they and Anne now hold "tails only" sleepovers on full moon nights.
