This golden medallion possesses the magical ability to change a person's age and gender. If a magic-user utters the command phrase "Invokio Amulet", the person holding the amulet is immediately regressed to a much younger form in both mind and body, and also has his or her gender reversed. The effect can also be deactivated quite easily by uttering the counterspell "Dispellus Amulet". This item is commonly used by Anne's brother Evan to switch between his normal, early-20's male form, and that of a 4-year-old girl named Lilly. Evan finds the childhood form to be relaxing after long days at work (the gender shift doesn't seem to be a deterrent to him).

Ancient Origins
Ironically, the amulet's true age is unknown. The only record of its early history is found in a fairy tale about a wager between an imp and a human prince.

The imp used the amulet to turn the prince into a little girl, and challenged her to reverse the effect before she aged into a grown woman. If she failed, she would have to marry the imp. Unaware of the simple counterspell, she conscripted a wizarding apprentice to find a solution to the problem. The wizard crafted a second, silver amulet that was designed to have the opposite function of the original. The silver amulet did counter the gold one's age regression, but it was unable to reverse the gender change (which caused the imp to win the bet much sooner than he expected).

Events Before Enter The Wotch
Shortly after Anne first gained her Wotch powers, she and Evan found the golden youth amulet in a magic shop and purchased it. Recognizing the possibility for dimensions of fun that were normally unavailable to a 20-something, E would use the amulet to become Lilly from time to time (or whenever Anne would let him get away with it). As a result, E makes appearances as Lilly in many chapters of the comic.

Events During What's My Age Again?
To E's dismay, the powers of the amulet turned out not to be foolproof. While attempting to dispel the amulet's affect after Lilly's playtime, Anne sneezed partway through the counterspell. This spellcasting glitch caused Evan's body to return, but with Lilly's mind. Subsequent attempts at using the amulet reversed the situation, with Evan's mind inhabiting Lilly's body. Even mind-recovery spells only provided temporary relief. This resulted in a day of E struggling to do computer repairs and attend a job interview when his mind and body were out of sync. After much turmoil, Anne was finally able to use her own age-progression and transgender spells to convert Lilly's body into Evan's without altering his mind, circumventing the amulet's magic and restoring the status quo.

Events During Adventures In Babysitting
Through some trick of fate, the amulet's silver counterpart managed to find its way to the Magic Touch, where it was pocketed by Lilly's friend Jennie. At their next playdate, Jennie was all too eager to show off her new "necklace" that looked so much like Lilly's. However, when the two amulets touched, the magical feedback caused everyone in the house to be transformed. Anne, Robin, Jason and Miranda were all regressed by the gold amulet (although Anne and Miranda were immune to the gender shift since they were Wotches), while Lilly and Jennie were affected by the silver amulet, causing them to age but keep their gender (resulting in E's "Missy" form). Before the effect could be reversed, the imp arrived to claim Missy as his new bride, but she and Anne managed to trick him into letting her go. When the amulets' effects were finally removed, a furious Miranda crushed both of them, ending their long tenure of age-altering antics.

[edit] Current Status

The amulet... [spoiler...]The amulet and its silver counterpart were both magically crushed by Miranda West at the end of Adventures In Babysitting, and presumably disposed of by Milo. It is unlikely that they will return. However, Anne learned how to duplicate their effects with her own magic, so Lilly is still a recurring character today. [...hide spoiler]
